...And not nearly enough Mr. Darcy's.

When I can't sleep, I think about weird things, so bear with me.

For those of you who haven't read Pride and Prejudice, Mr. Wickham is Mr. Darcy's rival in love for Elizabeth Bennet and is a lying, sweet-talking pig while before, in the very beginning, everyone thought him perfectly aimable and charming. Now, Mr. Darcy on the other hand was painted at first as someone haughty and self centered. His true nature was that he was somewhat... I suppose shy, but beneathe the silent, stoic exterior, was a person of great character and immense strength.

One was perfectly moral while the other, once you realized how coniving he was, was someone to be abhored.

So, in this description, I bring you my reasons for these strange, exhausted prattlings of a drained mind.

There are far too many men now that act as a Mr. Wickham: lying, cheating and manipulating. Why? I have no idea. Not many people know how to behave properly, treat women or admit to wrongs. Of course, don't get me wrong, I'm certain there are many, many female versions of these two examples, but still, why is it that anyone feels a strange, irrational desire to behave in the manner of such a beastial version of the human heart?

Confusing, but most must do it simply because they desire to be looked upon in a dignified manner, not caring if they deserve it or not while they decieve others. Maybe they also want some manner of attention, if only in the form of ill placed pity from the one being decieved.

I just wish people could show some sort of courtesy to those whom they so speak with; honesty and respectable behavior are two things society very much needs.
